Blog Check

Hi all,

Well done again on such detailed research presentations today. I have just checked through the blog, and the only people showing as not joined up as authors are:
Linden, Byron, Tom and Fettaclas@msn.com (not sure who this is?!).

Get blogging everyone - loads of stuff from today to upload! Have a good weekend, and brace yourself for a mega Tuesday!

Best,

Road to Wigan Pier, and Spiritualism

HERE Is a link to the entire text of Road to Wigan Pier for free!

HERE is a link to the history of Spiritualism and the Seance, and how to perform one.

HERE is a link to the history of reading tea-leaves, and detailed information on how to do it.

The last two websites appear to take these "arts" pretty seriously, and it is kind of interesting.

Introductory Links

Welcome all to the 'Love on the Dole' Research Blog. This blog can be used as a valuable shared and central resource, for links, thoughts, images relating to the contextual research of this play an project.

You will be developing your research skills, and I invite all of you to join this blog as authors, so that you can contribute your links and ideas here. Below, I have kicked off with an example of how to start finding useful links and information.

First Batch of Links - TO BE OPENED AND READ!

Click here for a useful link to the Working Class Movement Archive, with detailed information about playwright Walter Greenwood and his social and political background. Click here for a useful archive at the University of Salford, which houses some historical information on Walter Greenwood.

You will need to find out as much information about the area and history of Hanky Park in Salford.

Click here for some information on the area today. Please also register to join the online discussion forum on the Salford Council website, which provides a wide range of resources, stories, links, photos.

A website has been set up to preserve memories, images and stories of Old Salford. Click here to check it out.

Listen to 'Dirty Old Town' by the Dubliners, which was written about Salford.

That's plenty to get you started - I shall look forward to YOUR posts!
